Overview[ edit ] For a synopsis of the play, see Hamlet The Ghost appears three times in the play: The ghost arrives at 1. The Ghost first appears to a duo of soldiers—Bernardo and Marcellus—and a visitor to Denmark, Horatio. The men draw their swords and stand in fear, requesting that Horatio, as a scholar, address the ghost. Horatio asks the ghost to speak, and reveal its secret. It is about to do so when the cock crows, signalling morning, and the ghost instead disappears. In this scene, the Ghost is clearly recognised by all present as the King, dressed in his full armour. Marcellus notes that the ghost had appeared to the castle guards twice before. Talk of spectral visitations has unsettled the night watch.

Rejected from major folk clubs, she resorted to busking , while she “worked in the women’s wear section of a downtown department store to pay the rent. She found her best traditional material was already other singers’ property and would no longer pass muster. She said, “You’d come into a town and you’d be told, you can’t sing that, you can’t sing that. She later wrote, “[he] left me three months pregnant in an attic room with no money and winter coming on and only a fireplace for heat.
The spindles of the banister were gap-toothed fuel for last winter’s occupants.

Although it is often described as a bestiary, its focus encompasses theology and astrology as well as the natural sciences as understood in The manuscript is structured on astrological principles and is divided into 19 books which according to M. If something is known about the De Proprietatibus Rerum in general, far less is known about its author Bartholomeus Anglicus, or the particular copy of the manuscript that comprises this web site. Although there is speculation that Bartholomeus possibly studied at Oxford; that he had been born into the nobility; that he possibly had the surname “Glanville,” his identity remains a mere fragment. What is known conclusively is that Bartholomeus was sent to a newly created studium for student friars in Saxony in

A group of archaeologists working on Triquet Island found evidence of continuous occupation dating back 14, years. There was evidence of two tsunamis, yet the people continued to return. An important aspect of this discovery is that it supports the theory that people arrived on the North American continent by boat and not only along the Siberian land bridge. A 14, year-old village site on Triquet Island that did not freeze over during the last Ice Age was home to Heiltsuk First Nations and reaffirms their oral history of a place their ancestors travelled to for survival.
Source The discovery lends support to the oral history of the Heiltsuk Nation, which has long said its peoples have inhabited the area for generations. According to Heiltsuk Nation oral tradition, the island remained ice-free during the last ice age, when much of North America was covered by glaciers. The archeological findings support that, and also show that sea levels have been relatively stable in that area, which is why the island was not submerged like other ancient villages.

But in saying that I avoid life drawing like the plague. I have to go somewhere and sit in front of a nude person. Peeking out from my paper only when necessary. Observe and draw, repeat. So, Finally I bit the bullet and went to an intensive 5 full days of life drawing Working together and sharing creative ideas is an excellent way to expand as an artist but rarely do we actually get the opportunity to get out of the studio. Artists are usually found under rocks or in solitary confinement.
Thanks to everyone who commented in a civil and respectful manner. I am surprised at the constant popularity of this post. However, remember that it was written in March , after I left Vancouver mostly heartbroken and disillusioned. Immigration can be an issue, but racism is barbaric and is swiftly removed. This post is entirely my own opinion, based on my personal experience and has no claim to objectivity.
It just represents my truth. Please give it a look. There are beautiful mountains and glass skyscrapers and the ocean.
SN SN I own a Curta II in a plastic case, serial , with instruction leaflet and a copy of the yellow computations manual. This is in excellent used condition. Bought from Bryan Halladay in England and was used in rallying. I am learning to use it competently in historic rallying of my MGB Roadster. I am interested in trading for a mint Curta I or Curta II in a metal case that is complete with all literature and box. Also I would like to obtain a lether rally case as well.

Burrs Pieces are formed by removing unit cubes from rectilinear solid pieces. A burr is notchable if it can be made with just straight cuts. Some burrs have a “key” piece that slides out. More complex ones have a number of internal voids called holes , where removing the first piece may require sliding several pieces. An assembly of a burr is a solved shape. An assembly is a solution if it can be achieved by starting with the pieces apart and making legal moves.
The level of a solution is the minimum number of moves required to remove the first piece or separate the puzzle into two parts. The level of a burr is the lowest level of its solutions. Note that to compute level, we use Cutler’s definition, where the movement of several pieces together, or the consecutive movement of pieces in the same direction, counts as a single “move”.
Burr level can be expressed with more than one number; e. For example, the figure above shows Coffin’s Improved Burr, which requires 3 moves to remove the first piece letters show how pieces fit, numbers indicate an order in which they can be disassembled. The number of holes in a standard 6-piece burr: Standard 6-piece burr records, from the computer work of Bill Cutler: There are no standard 6-piece burrs of level
